Ingredients for Tamatar Ki Kadhi:
Tomatoes pureed8 medium
Gram Flour 4 teaspoons
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida a pinch
Whole dry red chillies 4-5
Curry leaves 5-6
Sugar 1 teaspoon
Fresh coriander leaves chopped2 tablespoons

Method:
Step 1
Take gram flour in a bowl. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix. Add fresh tomato puree and whisk well. Add two cups of water and mix.
Step 2
Heat a non stick pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and roast till the mustards seeds crackle.
Step 3
Add a pinch of asafoetida, broken dry red chillies and curry leaves and roast till a nice aroma is given out. Add the tomato mixture and mix.
Step 4
Once the mixture comes to a boil, reduce heat and cook for about ten minutes till the mixture is thickened and well cooked. Add sugar if the kadhi is too sour. Add coriander leaves and mix.
Step 5
Serve hot with boiled brown rice.
